Q. I am interested in a house called “Walden” which stood where Yester Park is now situated. It was built by the 9th Marquess of Tweeddale (Viscount Walden) in the 19th century. I would be interested to know who was the architect and when it was demolished, and would be particularly pleased if you had any pictures of the original house.
Mr. William Henry Pinnock who lived there for some time around 1928 was my uncle, and I would like to know if you have any information on him. He later moved to “Fairmead” Hill Brow, where he died in 1947, so I would also be interested in any information on that house.
Yours sincerely, Diana Willes
