The Chislehurst Society would like to thank all the members who made suggestions regarding the location and naming of a pathway in Chislehurst to commemorate the ongoing coming together of the community to support each other during the Corona pandemic.
An army of volunteers delivered medication, food and supplies to those in need of assistance. Other volunteer groups assisted in a variety of ways.
The Chislehurst Society Executive Committee met via Zoom on Wednesday evening and shortlisted names for the path which connects Empress Drive and Chislehurst High Street for proposal to the London Borough of Bromley. The two favoured suggestions were:
- Community Path 2020.
- Chislehurst Community Path.
The proposed location was felt to be “central” to Chislehurst as this route was used most frequently by volunteers to reach out to others when delivering medication and supplies to residents in the community.
The suggested names emphasise the “Community” aspect of the support provided to others in Chislehurst. We will keep you informed as the proposal is processed by the London Borough of Bromley.
Thank you all again for your invaluable input
