Managing the Old Chapel for the Community

The Old Chapel is being very well used now and we are a popular venue for Pilates, yoga and children’s parties. If you want to join any regular classes take a look at our noticeboard for the organisers’ contact details.

The regular Wednesday morning coffee mornings have now been augmented by a monthly lunch so if you fancy a delicious midday meal at a very reasonable price in welcoming surroundings, contact April’s Kitchen on 07952 906071.

October half term never fails to go by without a Halloween event and this year’s Witches’ Brew for the High Street Pumpkin Hunt organised by Visit Chislehurst was no exception. We love having families enjoying the facilities, and no one seemed to be too scared off by haggard old sisters this year – you’ve got to join them, haven’t you!

We held an afternoon talk, ‘Railway Rivalry’, in early October, which several of our train buff members enjoyed. Read the talk summary on our website by Jed Bailey. Look out for other talks next year; do let us know if you have a topic in mind that you would like to hear about. The hall can seat 50 people and we are happy to arrange events where there is a demand.

Queens Passage is much safer now that it has been resurfaced and it looks much better, too. We were grateful to our neighbouring landlord, Guy Osborne, for his contribution towards the cost of the repairs. We know some neighbours were disappointed not to see the whole passage being renewed, but we are already noticing an increase in traffic using the route as a cut through, which was always a cause for concern.
