Membership

Join Us

The Chislehurst Society is a charity, and entirely dependent on support from its members and the general public. We pride ourselves on being among the largest civic societies or amenity groups in the UK with a membership of over 4,000.

Membership fees

Membership fees have been kept low at £5 per household (£10 for postal members), so that they are affordable. Members receive free copies of the The Cockpit, regular newsletters via email, and can attend and vote at our Annual General Meeting. Members can also attend our various functions at no cost.
You do not need to be resident in Chislehurst to be a member; you can be a postal member, members at a cost of £10 per annum, a modest additional amount to cover postage costs.

Donations and bequests

If you would like to help us with our work, we are also pleased to accept donations and bequests, so please get in touch. We can advise on gift aid arrangements, and appropriate wording if you are drawing up a will.

Reward scheme

The Chislehurst Society has teamed up with several Chislehurst businesses to provide a reward scheme that is exclusive to Chislehurst Society members.  All you need do is show your current Chislehurst Society membership card to the business in question at the time of making the purchase or order and you will receive the benefit shown.
The Chislehurst Society supports independent businesses and here’s why.

Local businesses

  • support and sustain the local economy
  • create local jobs and provide opportunities for local residents
  • help build our community
  • value you more and are more personable – not faceless corporations
