Buildings in Chislehurst
Chislehurst boasts a great many interesting and important buildings for such a small community. Some, such as Camden Place, were grand country houses built before the advent of the railway, while others, such as Foxbury, are testimony to the wealth brought to Chislehurst by London merchants attracted here in the late 19th Century. Workers' cottages, fine arts and crafts houses and modern town houses rub shoulders in an interesting range of styles and designs, brought to us by some of the country's finest architects, including Ernest Newton, Sir Ernest George, Sir Aston Webb, and Norman Starret.
